THE QUIET SPACE
Kraftwerk Berlin opens its doors free of charge from August 1 to 17, 2025, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience the space in a new light, empty and free of content or infrastructure. Visitors are invited to walk, stretch, sit, or simply breathe, observing the play between natural light, cool air, and the brutalist structure.
Presented by Tresor Foundation, The Quiet Space transforms the vast industrial architecture into a still, contemplative environment, a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect. Acting as a refuge from the intensity of Berlin’s summer heat, the project offers a moment of calm amid the city’s fast-moving cultural calendar.

Berlin Atonal 2025
Berlin Atonal makes its highly anticipated return to Kraftwerk Berlin this August (27-31 August) presenting a five-day programme of new commissions, premieres, installations, and club nights. Across Kraftwerk’s vast concrete spaces, the festival continues its mission to mobilise artistic risk and initiate new modes of listening, gathering, and sense-making. This year also marks Berlin Atonal’s official debut as a member of the International Biennial Association — a recognition of its standing as one of the world’s most significant platforms for experimental, interdisciplinary, non-commercial art and music. As the only member with a grounding in music, Berlin Atonal reimagines the biennial not simply as a cultural format but as a staging ground for new forms of artistic imagination and collective attention. Alongside large-scale presentations on the main stage, the festival introduces Third Surface, a newly conceived audience environment inspired by the informal spaces and counter-institutions of nightlife before the rise of dance music. Here, music and artworks create the backdrop for new forms of social and psychic assembly.
